Hello, I am just curious what "air softing"? is and have a few questions about a starting load out to get going. Prefering a Sniper like playstyle if applicable, not sure how effective 590-625 fps is in the sport. Im 100% Noob at this and was curious about rule and regulations for the matches you play and what not.
If anyone could get back to me or contact me directly via text message 541-404-0181 I would love to know more about the sport.
Thanks Again

Ummm, Bolt action snipers are regulated down to no more than 550fps. FPS doesn't mean range however.

Basically it roles down to this:
Any weapon used for CQB: 350 fps (Less then 25 feet) Any gun used for field play: 400 fps (Cannot engage targets within 25ft) Any Semi Auto only weapon designated as a DMR: 475 fps (Cannot engage targets within 25ft) Sniper Rifles. This means a single shot bolt action weapon: 550fps (Cannot engage targets within 50ft)

If you are completly new to the sport I would reccomend not going with a sniper platform unless: You have been professionally trained as a sniper. You have a long standing knowledge of stalking woodland animals. You have more patients then sense. You have 600$ to dump into the platform to make it preform at acceptable standards.
I recommend people starting with a simple AEG, M4, AK, P90, ETC. You can generally pick up a new starting platform that preforms well for around $150 to $190. This will allow you play on the field, and then learn where you might really see yourself on the field.
It is know offense to you, but I have seen far to many new people show up on a the field claiming to be or wanting to be snipers. Most of them give up that idea fairly quickly. When they learn what it really means to be a sniper.

Ya ive done a little research and it seems that to have an effictive rifle you need to spend quite a bit of many into modifications for precision and distance to be truly effective. So far as the 104th goes do are you field play or mostly Cqb? Thanks again for all the information

It is something that is not fun, besides Another warning To all starters that i feel needs to be noted is: Video Game experience does not translate to airsoft. Many People do say they wish to roll out in sniper or LMG to be a heavy gunner because the reality of what it takes To run these load outs isn't displayed on the digital formats. Its a lot harder to sneak up on people too. What i recommend is the same as Tank, always Start with the basics, once you have experience with airsoft then you learn about BB drop, windage, ranging targets, What BB weight is best for your rifle and so on. Come out and play With us, we have every type of platform imaginable, You can try it before you buy into it. If you're looking just to get your feet wet its far more entertaining and a hell of a lot cheaper to play assault class.

Field play mostly, we play in the woods... however Tank and Myself have ranged people with the cheap $50 DE tri-burst shotguns, they may be for CQB but they can reach out there if needed.

Our next game is Sunday, the 29th of June. As you are in Coos Bay there are generally lots of rides down.
